About Us
Our history
Azaneo (Formally Growave) developed Microwave weed control technology for vegetable farmers. This development stopped in 2022 as the team didn't see a path to scale. This experience provided valuable lessons for what it takes to create a truly scalable weeding alternative. With input from leading growers and a first principals design approach we have developed a new solution. Focused on improving these key areas:
- Energy efficiency
- Rapid treatment time
- Efficacy across all species, all sizes & all weather conditions
Why we need another option
- Farmers only have one tool for scaled weed control - herbicide
- This has enabled food production to significantly grow but we now understand the consequences and limitations of relying on only one mechanism. Herbicides are challenged in these key areas:
- Weed Resistance which limits the efficacy
- Chemical drift onto other crops, waterways & public land
- Unreliable herbicide supply and cost - a national food security risk
The electric future
We believe that the electric revolution will touch many industries not just energy. We see a future where farmers can "manufacture" their own electric weed control - on farm. Our technology will enable farmers to control all weed species without waiting for the perfect weather conditions.
